2023
This year's tennis season started on a strong note, with over 50 athletes trying out for 32 spots. With the cooperation of good weather, extra practice time and some strong competitors, we set our sights on upsetting the years long dominance of the KSS tennis program. Unfortunately, reality set in on KASSAA championship day, resulting in only two players eligible to play in the EOSSAA tournament. Although we did not qualify for a spot at OFSAA, we did walk away with the gold medal for best team BBQ. The highlights of the season were, Aaron Pananchickal using his wrist flick to win the junior boys singles silver medal at both KASSAA and EOSSAA and Hayden Gaudet playing in a tie breaker game to win the senior girl's singles gold medal at KASSAA. The strong play of our international students helping our various teams dominate the consolation side of the KASSAA championship.

This tennis season was an extremely successful one for the HC tennis team. This group of dedicated athletes gave it their all at every practice and match attended, always improving and perfecting their skills. The junior boys doubles made up of Luke Richardson and Brandan Ignazzitto were KASSAA champions and did not lose a match until their appearance at EOSSAA. The senior boys doubles came second at KASSAA (but were the best looking pair there) and qualified for EOSSAA. Unfortunately the team made up of Eric Macrow and Adam Alcorn could not make it to the EOSSAA tournament.
