Girls Soccer 2019
The Senior girls’ soccer team had a great season this year. They had immense determination and passion for the sport. The girls started this season with a win in both the Greg Hulse invitational as well as the RMC preseason “festival of soccer”. Despite the enormous amounts of rain this spring, the girls still showed up to every game ready to work hard and play. Unfortunately, they lost in a well fought semifinal game against La Salle however, they will never forget their season full of memories. Congratulations girls!

Senior Girls Soccer 2018:
The senior girls played their first exhibition game of the season against KC on April 5th at Queens University's west campus turf field. They faced a tough loss against KC who won 2-1. Marley Golle, number 7 scored the first goal of the game for HC. The girls played through extreme winds with only three substitutes. This game fueled the girls and encouraged them to come back harder in league games. Good luck to the senior girls soccer team this season!
The girls had a dedicated and entertaining season. Unfortunately, under the pressure of winning the Regi game in order to advance to OFSAA, in quarter finals the girls lost 3-2. They were up an entire two goals until half, playing impeccable defense however, Regi made an unlucky come back winning the game and advancing to semi finals. Congratulations to all the seniors who have made a commitment to the HC soccer program and good luck to the girls next year!

The Senior Girls Soccer team enjoyed a very strong season. With only one loss in the regular the season, the team's confidence was at an all-time high, as they continued to strive for victories. Highlights include making it to the KASSAA Finals, the RMC warm up tournament followed by lunch at Mrs. Hawkins-Hogans house and the teams succession our own HC tournament in mid April, where they were the Silver champions. In the KASSAA Championship game last week, the girls played with true Crusader spirit only to narrowly lose a very well fought game.
April 13th-14th: RMC Spring Warm- up
Congratulations to the members of the Sr. Girls soccer team who took part in the RMC Spring Soccer Warm up at their new Dome this weekend. The team won 2 games, tied one and narrowly lost one. Goals were scored by Grace Esford, Marilyn Doherty, Angela Lobo, Devan Anderson and Savanah Barbosa. Great start to the season girls. Your coaches are looking forward to lots more goals!!
April 15th-May 23rd:
League play begins
The Sr Girls Soccer team opened up their KASSAA season with a strong 2-0 win over ESS on Friday, April 19th. Along with battling the eagles they had to face extreme weather conditions. Great way to kick off the season ladies!
The Sr. Girls continued their winning start to the season with a 2-0 win over Frontenac at home on Monday, April 22nd. Marilyn Doherty clinched the game in the dying seconds with 2 quick goals. Great games girls especially our goal keepers, Morgan McLaren and Melissa Porter.
The Sr. Girls soccer team continued their unbeaten run last night as they stole a win against Napanee recording a 5-4 victory. Marilyn Doherty scored a hat-trick, Maddie Young and Angela Lobo scored one each. Great come back girls.
The Sr. Girls soccer team played a great game against Sydenham, taking control of the game to win 2-0. Goals were scored by Nicole Lanzo and a penalty by Grace Esford. Great goal tending by Melissa Porter and Morgan McLaren.
The Sr. Girls finished their regular season with a decisive win against Sharbot Lake last night. Goals were scored by Meagan Kirbyson and Sydney DeLongi who scored 2 each and Angela Lobo and Nicole Borges who scored 1 each. Melissa Porter and Sydney DiLongi can take credit for the shut-out as they each shared a half in net. The girls were in great spirits and were gracious to attempt unfamiliar positions on the field as they romped to their victory.
The Sr. Girls soccer team managed a 2-1 win over KCVI in the quarter finals. Marilyn Doherty opened the scoring and Angela Lobo sealed the game coolly slotting the ball past the keeper. Despite total domination and too many shots to count it was one of those games where the ball wouldn't go in the net. The team continued the pressure throughout the game and have deservedly earned a spot in the semi-finals.
The Sr. Girls soccer team took on NDSS in the semi finals coming out with the win. Goals scored by Marilyn Doherty, Angela Lobo, Nicole Borges and Emma Arbuckle secured the 4-2 win. Great job girls and good luck in KASSAA finals.

Tuesday, April 17, 2012
The senior girls soccer team starts their season off Friday, April 20th Against Sydenham at 3:30 on home turf.
Season Highlights:
Intense training started after March Break which saw athletes running the loop, circuit training in the hallways and running hills at Dunham St with the track team, and mini scrimmages in the gym. One of the season highlights include The Sr. Girls team venturing up to the Great White North for their opening game to play in mitts and coats to grab an 8-0 victory. It was the first time the coaches have treated a spring soccer team to hot chocolate on the ride home. Mid-season witnesses a fierce competition at the BCI tournament regulation time Competition brings forth the passion and desire within each athlete to complete semi-final matches. "Never Giving Up" was the Senior Girls motto which encouraged the team to secure a victory in the overtime against Sydenham and scoring the first goal against the Panthers in the KASSAA final game. Congratulations to the graduating players for their contributions to Crusader's soccer and we wish them all the best in their future academic and athletic endeavours.

Senior Girls Soccer 2011:
Season Highlights:
The senior girls soccer team had a very successful regular season, with a record of 3-2-1. They won the KCVI Blue Ball tournament, beating Regi in the finals in a shoot-out. They won the BCI B championship game with few players and a great effort. The team then went on to the playoffs, and won the quarter final match against FSS in overtime.
The girls then lost a hard fought semi-final match against Regi. The 3-0 score did not reflect the effort the girls gave. The coaches want to thank the team for their commitment especially the graduating players and are looking forward to a strong season next year.

Senior Girls Soccer 2002:
The varsity girls soccer team had high hopes for the 2002 season. The team's goal was to make a long overdue appearance in the KASSAA final and win another championship. With a solid nucleus of returning veterans and promising younger players the team improved over the season building upon the work done the previous year, and the girls did certainly impress H.C. supporters with their skilled and powerful play.

Senior Girls Soccer 1996:
The senior girls soccer team achieved a great amount success this season as they made their way from the EOSSAA title to a chance at OFSSA for the first time in Holy Cross history. The team will genuinely miss the skill of our leaving veterans: Jayna Hefford, Karie Allen and Sal Thomas. A great amount of effort and skill was put forth by the entire team.

Senior Girls Soccer 1995:
This year players exceeded expectations. The commitment displayed by all members of the team was admirable. They scored over 40 goals in 8 games. Unfortunately although undefeated during EOSSAA the girls did not advance to OFSAA after scoring less goals than the team they tied. A very special thank you to Laura Wilber for her generous contribution to the team in terms of her time, energy and expertise.

Senior Girls Soccer 1994:
Great dedication and commitment on behalf of the Senior Girls Soccer team led them, for the first time, to an undefeated regular season. Unfortunately, Holy Cross was upset by Lassale in the semi-final play. Highlights include finishing in first place in the Ottawa tournaments, and playing really well at the Immaculata Indoor Tournament, and the Glouster Outdoor Tournament. They won the H.C. Sr. Girls Invitational and were named the highest scoring team in the league.

Senior Girls Soccer 1993:
Under coach Mr. O'Brien, the Senior Girls Soccer team made it to the CFSAA finals for the second year in a row. Refusing to give up regardless of the score, the girls lost 3-2 in a heartbreaker against Sydenham. The team's biggest thrill came after winning the Leeds and Grenville Tournament; although tired and withered, they played hard and came up victorious. Congratulations to Catherine Morris and captain Julie Douglas, the team's MVP's and to Tanaquil Chantrill, who was named to the Queen's Indoor Tournament All-Star Team.

Senior Girls Soccer 1991:
The senior girls soccer team enjoyed a successful 1990-91 season. With 1 win, 4 ties, and only 4 losses, this spectacular group of gals and their two coaches have everything to be proud of. Highlights of this season included our big win against Ernestown, and our tie games with Frontenac, KCVI, Bayridge and QECVI. A fantastic season was had by all.

Senior Girls Soccer 1990:
The 1989-90 Holy Cross Senior Girls Soccer Crusaders enjoyed their most successful season to date. This season began with a rousing tournament at Rideau District and was climaxed by a 4-0 victory over Ernestown. The team was competitive, making the play-offs only to fall to Regi 1-0 in the quarter finals. Next year will be the best!

Senior Girls Soccer 1989:
"So close yet so far" is an apt description of this year's Holy Cross Senior Girl Crusaders. Although they enjoyed their most successful season yet, earning ties against Bayridge, LCVI and Ernestown, they failed to break through to the playoffs in their inaugural season in the senior division. Highlights of this building year include Lorri Beaureguard's 40 yard goal against LCVI, Angela Bianchet's "aggressive" play against Bayridge and the "Mud Bowl" against arch-rival KCVI. Things are looking up for Spring 1990 with all players returning and promising recruits from the juniors.
