With a large team made up of over 25 runners, our athletes enjoyed many invitational meets across South-Eastern Ontario this season. Athletes ran hard and captured multiple division medals at these meets, with our Senior Girls capturing Gold at all 3 invitational meets! At the first EOSSAA meet since 2019, the challenging Petawawa course filled with hills and rocky footing posed for a hard race. Our runners showed determination and finished the hard run, with the Senior Girls team placing 3rd, Novice Girls team placing 5th, and the Junior Boys team placing 9th.

Highlights
-Finally attending XC meets again at Pre-KASSAA and KASSAA at Little Cataraqui Conservation Area. Both races were beautiful weather-wise and provided a much-anticipated opportunity for our athletes.
-At both Pre-KASSAA and KASSAA, our athletes performed so well - they ran hard and posted impressive results.
-Watching our runners grow as a team - the support, the encouragement, the comradery, and the friendships with, and for, each of the athletes was incredible for us, as coaches, to see develop.
-Having 7 athletes qualify for OFSAA! (Aidan Tulk, Emiliano Pimentel, Anna Kenney, Emily Kenney, Ethan Dart, Kate McKinley, Sarah Irwin)
-Aidan Tulk's top 10 finish at OFSAA.
-Several team members continuing to train with each other after season's end.

Highlights
This year was the largest team for many years, 22 runners, and the largest number who made it to OFSAA, 6 runners (Aidan Tulk, Reese McShane, Claire Hamilton, Anna Kenney, Emily Kenney, Michelle Lacasandile). The season started in warm sunny days perfect for running, ending in November with snow and ice to end the season at OFSAA in Sudbury. The dynamics and energy of the team was amazing, with high energy and fun team chants on the line before races as everyone supported and cheered each other during races.

Year Summary
The 2018 Cross Country team had an excellent season, starting off with its largest roster in years. With the team's expansion, they took a road trip to another new meet this year, their second season in a row doing so. The team finished off strong, sending three students to OFSAA in Hamilton, Ontario where they represented our school with great sportsmanship and pride. Congratulations Crusaders!
