The Ontario University Application Center’s (OUAC) on-line application is referred to as SSOLA (Secondary School Online Application). The 101 application is intended for students currently attending Ontario secondary schools. Students who are no longer attending secondary school and wish to apply to an Ontario university may apply on-line using the 101 link.
Holy Cross provides the OUAC with an electronic file containing the student’s personal and academic information. Students need to review the information sent and make changes or additions to personal data where necessary, add university and program choices, and answer a few additional questions.
The secondary school counselor is responsible for making any required changes to the academic data and will provide the OUAC with current course grades during the winter and spring.
Once the secondary school has provided the OUAC with the students’ information, students will receive a personal identification number (PIN) that will allow them access to the application process. Student Services will notify the students when these numbers are available, usually in November. Students need to go to
OUAC 101 to access the on-line application. Students may also access the Tutorial for On-Line Application and the Tutorial for Review and Change Your Completed Application.
Certain information is supplied automatically on behalf of students by their school, however, other information, such as supporting documentation, must be provided by the student when required by the universities. Applicants should read all instructions carefully and ensure that this documentation is received by the applicable deadline.

It is the student’s responsibility to meet the deadline dates indicated by the universities. Most universities require that responses to offers of admission be made on-line. When responding on-line you must click on the "Submit" button and follow the steps in order to send your response to the OUAC. After successfully submitting your response, a screen displaying your confirmation number will appear. Keep this number in a safe place.
Accepting and Declining Offers of Admission
It is recommended that students submit the on-line application and all applicable fees to the
OUAC by December 15.
The actual deadline date is in January. Applications received after will still be processed by the
OUAC and distributed to the universities. However, specific institutional deadlines will apply.
The recommended date to make final changes as well as additional choices is in February. Also keep in mind that universities may require a personal statement of experience, a portfolio, an audition , or an interview. Please be aware of these requirements and deadline dates.
Evaluation of application files is performed at each university and admission decisions are made by the universities. The universities will communicate offers of admission directly to applicants. The OUAC does not make any admission decisions. When the universities have evaluated your file, an admission decision will be mailed directly to you. If you have been offered admission, you will be provided with the appropriate instructions for responding. If you choose to respond to your offer of admission on-line, do not mail a paper response to the OUAC.

Accepting an offer of admission from one university will not cancel your application to other universities. However, you may have only one acceptance of an offer on file at a time. Before you can accept a subsequent offer on-line, you must first cancel the previously accepted offer currently on file. Note: if you submit a subsequent paper acceptance, the OUAC will automatically cancel your previously accepted offer.
If you wish to attend a university that has offered you admission but whose response deadline has expired or if you wish to re-accept an offer you previously cancelled or declined, contact that university’s admissions office to see whether they will still consider you and, if whether a new offer can be issued. Remember, many university programs become full.
The later you wish to change universities, the more difficult it is likely to be.
If you are concerned about accepting or declining an offer of admission, contact the university’s admissions office in order to discuss your needs. The university will try to accommodate you as much as possible.
