COVID-19 Information and Updates

Youth age 12 years and over are eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccination in Ontario. Offering vaccination to youth who are eligible will help keep students, staff, schools, and surrounding communities as safe as possible.

Infection prevention protocols, paired with the ongoing vigilance and dedication of all staff, have helped keep the risk of COVID-19 spread low in our schools. Ensuring school staff and eligible students have the opportunity to get vaccinated will strengthen and reinforce current measures preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Please note that the Board's top priority is the health and safety of our students and staff. All precautions are being taken to ensure all school environments are cleaned as required and that all members are following public health guidelines. If there is a positive case in one of our schools, the Board will follow protocol as outlined by our local public health units and the Ministry of Education and take all precautions necessary.

In accordance with guidance from the Ministry of Education, this page will be updated with information regarding confirmed cases of COVID-19 involving an individual in a school setting or office site within ALCDSB.  This information will be shared upon notification of confirmed cases by one of our local health units.

In the interests of maintaining privacy, information provided here will not identify the individual that has received a positive COVID-19 case.

A positive case at a school does not mean the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at the school. They may have been exposed somewhere else in the community.

In the event that one of our local public health units advises the Board that a class or school should be closed for a period of time, parents/guardians, students and staff will be notified.
