Community Use of Schools
School Rentals
Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board supports the Ministry of Education’s Community Use of Schools initiative to ensure affordable access to school space, outside of school hours, by not-for-profit community groups.
Process
Please note: we have moved to a new booking software that requires the creation of an online account prior to booking space.
An individual or group may request the use of a school by creating an account and applying online at
https://alcdsb.ebasefm.com/rentals/welcome.
Once the Principal has approved the application, the custodial and rental fees will be confirmed, and any other relevant conditions for the event will be communicated. All invoices must be agreed to, and paid for, prior to the event. The application must be completed a minimum of 14 days before the first requested date.

Insurance
Permit approval is subject to user groups having appropriate insurance coverage.
Method 1: Insurance Certificate
All groups and individuals must have liability insurance. A community user group must carry comprehensive general liability insurance for an amount not less than $2,000,000. The insurance policy must cover the activities of the Authorized User and the activities of any other person for whom the party is responsible. The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board must be named as an additional insured on the policy. You may obtain an Insurance Certificate by contacting your insurance agent.
Note: All commercial activity requires an insurance certificate.
Method 2: Ontario School Board Insurance Exchange (OSBIE)
Note: This method is only available for not-for-profit organizations and non-commercial activity.
School Boards are committed to community use of schools. Obtaining individual coverage in the insurance marketplace can be cost prohibitive. In our efforts to minimize costs associated with this use, OSBIE has implemented an insurance program which allows facility users, who do not have access to an insurance program, to obtain coverage in an affordable, simple format.
For more information regarding the OSBIE insurance program, please contact
