Welcome to the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board! We appreciate your interest in our board and being part of our Catholic school community.

ALCDSB provides excellence in Catholic education to over 11,500 students in 32 elementary schools, five secondary schools and five adult learning sites.

What information do I need to prepare my application?

Cover Letter - Reference the job posting number for the position you are applying to or the type of position you are interested in with our board and introduce yourself.

ResumΓ© - Include a detailed resumΓ© outlining your education, qualifications, skills and experience (provide supporting documentation, as required).

For all teaching positions, we require one of following 

Pastoral Reference

Letter of Faith with a copy of your Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate

Any additional application requirements for the application package and a link to submit your application through Apply to Education are outlined in each posting.

Do I need a Criminal Background with Vulnerable Sector Check?
Upon job offer and as a condition of employment with our board, you will be required to submit a favourable Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (current within six months of date of hire). Employment with the board will not commence until this document has been received.

How long should I expect to wait to hear about my application?

We always have an open posting for Occasional Teachers. Interviews are held periodically, as needed.

What professional development opportunities are provided?
The ALCDSB provides its teachers with continuous professional development opportunities during the school year including NTIP, PA Day topic focused sessions, free leadership development courses, school based professional development and Board sessions such as development in primary reading strategies and secondary subject councils.  β€‹
